This information is extremely important!

Our British/Scottish kittens do not leave our home until they are READY, which is around 10-12 weeks of age. Kittens going to non-show homes or non-breeding homes (a pet home) are to be spayed or neutered by their new owner at a maximum of 6 months old, we will not provide pedigree/registration paperwork to new owner until we are provided with written proof from a registered Veterinary that the kitten has been spayed/neutered.

TICA Registration

Golden Whiskers Cattery is a show cattery and therefore, registering our kittens (even the ones that are destined for pet or non-show homes), is imperative to our goals as a breeder. 

Due to the importance of TICA registration, our policy regarding the individual registration for each kitten is:

A kitten buyer will have to decide on a registered name at least two weeks before the scheduled due date for the kitten to go to its new home.

A registration number and slip will be provided to the new owner (as soon as they fulfill the spay/neuter criteria if it is sold as a pet).

Prices

British/Scottish cat and kitten prices will vary depending on adherence to the breed standard, color, availability, and other factors.

British/Scottish kitten price range:

· Scottish Fold/Straight:

          Black/Chocolate GOLDEN Shaded/Shell              $3000 - $3500

          Black/Chocolate SILVER Shaded/Shell/Point       $3000 - $3500

· British Shorthair: 

          Blue, Lilac, Chocolate, Red, Cream and these color combinations:

          bicolor, point, tabby, tortie                                     $3000 - $3750

          Black/Chocolate Golden Shaded/Shell/Point       $3500 - $4000

           (e.g. ny11/12, by11,12)

          Black Silver Shaded/Shell                                      $3500 - $4000

           (e.g. ns11/12, bs11/12, ny1133/1233, bs1133/bs1233)

Our cattery offers breeding rights for an extra charge, which is double the price of a chosen kitten. We welcome all inquiries from people that desire to possibly show or breed their British/Scottish kittens. 

Reserving A Kitten

Once you decide that you want to be on our waiting list for a planned litter that is announced on our “Planned litter” section of the website, a deposit of $250 is required to have you on the waiting list for this litter.

We will notify you as soon as the litter is delivered with the available colors/gender of the delivered kittens. The waitlist  is notified in the order of deposits received (we will notify the first person on the list to make their choice, then move to the second…etc.)

If you decide when you are notified that there is a kitten that you would like to confirm as your choice, then we require that you pay 50% of the price of the selected kitten to mark it as reserved on our website, at this time you will be required to sign a purchase agreement with Golden Whiskers ( a copy will be sent to you for your review).

Golden Whiskers does not permit in-person visitations until the time of a kitten's pick-up, instead we can offer a VIDEO call. Golden Whiskers has multiple social media platforms where daily updates about kittens are posted, find the links to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and TikTok on main page of the website.

If a kitten has been reserved and if the kitten buyer cannot pay the balance due, the buyer forfeits the deposit and will not receive a kitten.

All deposits are considered a "good faith" agreement between Buyer and Golden Whiskers Cattery as outlined below:

1. Golden Whiskers Cattery agrees to "hold," said kitten for Buyer until said kitten can be placed into Buyer's care after 10-12 weeks of age, AND the balance due must be paid in full to Golden Whiskers Cattery (including, but not limited to, balance due, and any associated delivery fees). Said kitten would not be delivered or leave Golden Whiskers Cattery's home unless and until all monies are paid to Golden Whiskers Cattery, and Buyer executes and returns a signed copy of the purchase agreement. If the balance due is not paid to Golden Whiskers Cattery at the agreed-upon time, any deposit is deemed "forfeited".

Forfeiture: A deposit is forfeited if Buyer changes his/her mind and no longer desires to purchase said kitten from Golden Whiskers Cattery (for any reason) or is unable to pay Golden Whiskers Cattery the balance due on said reserved kitten within the agreed-upon time. Said forfeited deposit is considered liquidated damages to Golden Whiskers Cattery including, but not limited to:

1. Golden Whiskers Cattery has turned away other potential buyers when a "hold" was placed on said kitten;

2. An older kitten has a drastically reduced value and can no longer be sold for the original purchase price.

3. Between the time the kitten should have gone to its new home at the approximate age of ten-twelve (10-12) weeks and when it is finally sold to a secondary purchaser, Golden Whiskers Cattery will have suffered the increased costs associated with the feeding, care, and other additional vaccinations required to keep the said kitten in saleable condition from the original date of sale onward.

IMPORTANT: As a show breeder, Golden Whiskers Cattery reserves the right of "First Pick" of any litter. After evaluating the kittens for potential show quality. We reserve the right to our choice of which kitten (or kittens) we choose to keep BEFORE the people that have already given me a deposit for a kitten and the people on the Wait List get to choose a kitten. As a Show Breeder, we breed to continue a line, improve the breed, and hope to produce that one "perfect" kitten to continue our line and continue showing. For these reasons, we reserve the right to keep a kitten that we feel will enable me to go forward in our breeding program. The rest of any litter will then be placed in qualified, forever homes based on deposits received and Waitlist status.

Cancellation

Golden Whiskers Cattery reserves the express right to cancel a Sale with the Buyer, if at any time before the kitten leaves our home, we determine the placement of the kitten or cat with the Buyer will be harmful in any way to the kitten (or cat) or not a good match for the kitten (or cat) or Golden Whiskers Cattery. All monies paid to Golden Whiskers Cattery towards the purchase price of the kitten (or cat) will be refunded to the Buyer ONLY if Golden Whiskers Cattery cancels a sale under this "Cancellation" policy.

Accepted Forms of Payment

We accept Zelle or cash in case of personal pickup from our location.

You will receive a written receipt/confirmation by e-mail.

Delivery Information

Delivery or pick-up  is the Sole responsibility of the new buyer. Golden Whiskers can help with information but booking and paying for any shipping will be the ultimate financial and logistic responsibility of the buyer.

Picking Up Your Kitten: Please be sure to bring a cat carrier for safe transportation of the kitten. No kitten will leave our home unless a carrier is provided. If a kitten buyer does not have a cat carrier with them on the date of pick-up, a carrier can be purchased from us for $50.00. This provision is for the safety and well-being of the kitten or cat while traveling in your car.

If a kitten buyer is unable to come to our home and pick their kitten up, the kitten buyer must arrange for a private courier as outlined above.

Golden Whiskers Cattery reserves the right to refuse or cancel a sale (Sales Contract/Health Guarantee) to anyone at ANY time before a client takes possession of a kitten or cat. All monies paid to Golden Whiskers Cattery towards the purchase of a kitten will be refunded to the Buyer if Golden Whiskers Cattery cancels the contract before Buyer taking possession of the kitten or cat.

We do NOT sell to pet shops or a third-party buyer(s) for resale.
